About The Executive  Director: Dylan Lawrence

Dylan's love for theatre started at the age of 3. At age 6 he had started to put on his own productions for his family. Every holiday he would use any time he had to put a show together. Dylan's first audition was for Missoula Children's Theatre Production of Pinocchio. He had gotten the role of the lead toy soldier and he was overjoyed. That experience had changed his life forever. At age 8, Dylan auditioned for The Broadway Touring Production on of  The Wizard of Oz.

When Dylan moved to Lincoln, Nebraska Spring of 2012 he realized how many theatre opportunities there were in Lincoln. He started performing in a camp at the Youth Actors Actors Academy of Lincoln. Dylan then starred in Theatre Arts For Kids' production of The Wizard of Oz as the Wizard. He also did the tech side of things there as he was the tech designer for Peter Pan and Oklahoma

In Spring of 2014 Dylan auditioned for  The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley  at The Lincoln Community Playhouse.   Immidietaly after Dylan starred in  Oliver  also at The Lincoln Community Playhouse.

Summer 2014 is when Dylan created  The Backyard Theatre.  At first they   were going to perform Cinderella. But, then Dylan decided to do a show that he's loved for years, The Wizard of Oz. In 9 short days the cast of 11  built a stage, sets, organized costumes, learned choreography and built sets. There were 69 people in the audience for the first ever Backyard Theatre performance.

Winter 2014-Spring 2015 Dylan performed in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at The Stage Theater in Hickman, NE. Then, in he was in Oklahoma at The Lincoln Community Playhouse. Dylan was the youngest in the show at 12 years old.

Summer 2015 Dylan directed,   produced,  tech designed, costume designed, graphic designed and set designed  Shrek: The Musical. Shrek had a cast of 19 wonderful singers, dancers, and actors. Hours and hours of work went into the production and it paid off when more than 115 people came to the opening night, July 24th, 2015. That night there was a huge storm that did destroy a few things but the cast still delivered a wonderful show to an even bigger audience. None of this would be possible  without the help of Meghann and Rod Lawrence and Jason and Megan Woita for all of their support.

Dylan also worked on and offstage for The Lincoln Community Playhouse's production of Sister Act. He replaced a dancer who had dropped out last minute.
